Virtual Pageviews are the alternative of Event Tracking in Google Analytics. Sometimes they make sense instead of Events, especially if GA needs a Page View to be triggered e.g. for the Funnel Visualization. That’s why we are talking about Virtual Pageviews today and how to install them with Google Tag Manager. This video will expand on the trigger that we have built in the Button Click Tracking video (see below) and we will build a Virtual Page View instead of an Event.
